High Resolution MR of Arterial Vessel Walls
ثبت نشده
چکیده
A new high-resolution MR (HR-MR) black-blood imaging technique has been developed that enables examination of intra-cranial arterial vessel walls. HR-MR images can show arterial wall thickening (concentric or asymmetric), atherosclerotic plaque, intramural hemorrhage, and enhancement. HR-MR shows promise for the diagnosis of several cerebrovascular diseases: Atherosclerosis Arteritis Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome Dissection

Intravascular 3.0T MR Imaging: A feasibility Study in Swine
Introduction: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a useful imaging tool for visualization of vessel walls and characterization of atherosclerotic lesions, providing high resolution and multiple imaging planes with no risk of radiation. The use of MR technology is, however, limited in imaging of deep-seated arteries, primarily due to insufficient signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) with a surface coil. ...

Stroke and related cerebrovascular diseases are a major cause of mortality and disability. Even at standard-field-strengths (1.5T), MRI is by far the most sensitive imaging technique to detect acute brain infarctions and to characterize incidental cerebrovascular lesions, such as white matter hyperintensities, lacunes and microbleeds. Arterial time-of-flight (TOF) MR angiography (MRA) can depic...
متن کاملMagnetic resonance imaging permits in vivo monitoring of catheter-based vascular gene delivery.
BACKGROUND Gene therapy is an exciting frontier in modern medicine. To date, most investigations about the imaging of gene therapy have primarily focused on noncardiovascular systems, and no in vivo imaging modalities are currently available for monitoring vascular gene therapy. The purpose of this study was to develop an in vivo imaging tool to monitor a catheter-based vascular gene delivery p...
متن کاملAutomatic measurement of instantaneous changes in the walls of carotid artery with sequential ultrasound images
Introduction: This study presents a computerized analyzing method for detection of instantaneous changes of far and near walls of the common carotid artery in sequential ultrasound images by applying the maximum gradient algorithm. Maximum gradient was modified and some characteristics were added from the dynamic programming algorithm for our applications. Methods: The algorithm was evaluat...
متن کاملMR Cerebral Angiography Using Arterial Spin Labeling for Dynamic Inflow Visualization and Vessel Selectivity
Introduction: Digital subtraction X-ray angiography (DSA) is a widely used technique for the characterization of cerebral vessels. While MRI and CT can, in principle, provide angiographic information that could replace the riskier DSA study, which requires placement of a catheter for localized contrast injection and high doses of X-ray, these techniques typically lack the vessel selectivity and...
